The six VO-70s (Sanya is back in the race) has set off on what looks like a sprint of around 10 days. Heading North along the coast of Florida, the fleet is carried along by a powerful Gulf Stream. "We're off again! says Yann. And we're not doing too badly this time, as we managed to extract ourselves from the coastal course in Miami in a very good position. (They finished 2nd in the Miami In-Port race). The start took place in some very light conditions, before we latched onto a gentle north-easterly breeze of around a dozen knots. It's been a while since we didn't get our foulies wet in the opening hours of the race. To be honest, that's not a bad thing either! It enables you to get your bearings again a little more calmly when you're not being propelled along at twenty knots, the deck submerged beneath a metre of water..." and Yann confesses: "we're pretty happy to be sailing to Europe!"
