AVALANCHE ENDURO AE FOREST

This week end took place the 2nd stage of the Avalanche Enduro UK Serie at Forest of Ae with about 150 competitiors. Sunday May 10th - Day started under a grey sky but nobody looks to be worried about the weather. They were right as the
sun came out and will stay with us the all day long. Warm day… Dan DARWOOD (Justridingalong), winner of the seeding run started at 8.30 am to go to his first special stage of the six in total. All the riders followed him every 30s.

In the ambiance felted of the Scottish woods the countdowns for starts began, the “swipers” of
Vercors Informatique turns at full capacity to the hands of marshals, so happy to wear sunglasses!
Dan doesn't usurp his plate of N°1 and confirm while winning the 3 first special stage. While finishing
two times second of the 4 and 5, one cannot say that him demerit indeed either. Only the ultimate
special stage on a permanent DH track with lots of turns and aerial sections will drive him to be in 5th
position. Second overall, the French Vincent JULLIOT (Magazine BIKE), specially at Ae for to
compete the Avalanche Enduro saved the honor took the win on the 4th special stage with 11 seconds of advance. 4th stage was, if you listen to the riders, the longest and most physical among all.

Great performance for Crawford CARRICK-ANDERSON (CCA-Signs Trek Scotland) that recalls
while taking back the 5th special that he was has sometimes one of the all better pilots of World Cup. He would have made also a good position on stage 6 since he only conceded 5 seconds while finishing with a puncture on rear wheel ! Let's recall that this pilot with "Legend" as nickname is deaf and mute. Mickael THICKENS (MTBSKILLS. Iron Horse), first junior took the 14th place overall, showing while coming to make 8 of the Special
4, that have an excellent physical potential. The Ladies holds in a pocket-size but the first position had been taken by Rachel EVANS (Bigfoot MBC. Specialized Scotland).

A well full and high weekend in sensations that ends by an award ceremony illuminated by the sun, applauses and narrations of each rider who can’t wait to make better in 2010. But we can’t wait for 2010 to enjoy riding, let’s come to the 2nd stage of the Saab Salomon Avalanche Trophy in Vallnord June 13 & 14 or in Alpe d’Huez from July 6th to 12th to race Megavalanche.
